MANAMA — barq Group has signed a deal to acquire Beyon Money, bringing the Bahraini fintech into a platform that claims more than 15 million users.
The agreement, signed at FinTech Forward 2026 in Bahrain, folds Beyon Money into barq's broader fintech platform. Beyon, the Manama-headquartered telecoms and technology group, will in turn take an equity stake in barq Group, formally Technologies Union Holding Company, the Riyadh-based firm behind one of Saudi Arabia's largest consumer payment apps.
Deal value was not disclosed and the transaction remains subject to regulatory approvals, so it is not yet closed.
The shape of the deal is the signal. Rather than a cash exit, Bahrain's telecoms group is swapping its consumer fintech arm for equity in a Saudi payments platform, a cross-border consolidation route that keeps Bahraini ownership in play while handing scale to the larger market. It also gives barq a regulated Bahraini foothold without a greenfield licence application.
Watch for the Central Bank of Bahrain and Saudi central bank approvals, and whether Beyon Money's wallet users are migrated onto barq's rails or kept as a separate brand.
Beyon announced the deal.
