CAIRO — Egyptian businessman Ayman Abbas, CEO of Intro Holding Group, has invested EGP 10 million (about $210,000) for a 10% stake in Aqar Exit, a Cairo proptech marketplace for distressed property resales, valuing the company at EGP 100 million post-money.
Aqar Exit lets sellers exit off-plan property contracts with everything paid while buyers step in at the original contract price, taking a commission instead of holding assets. Founder Mahmoud Ammar says it is the first platform of its kind in Egypt and the Arab world. The platform listed around 8,000 units in its first 40 days.
The deal originated on Shark Tank Egypt season five, where the founders asked for EGP 10 million for 5% and closed at 10%. The capital arrives in two tranches, EGP 7 million in 2026 and EGP 3 million in 2027. The company plans GCC expansion, naming Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and is targeting a $5 million round for 2027.
Watch whether the two-tranche structure becomes a template for angel cheques into Egyptian proptech, and whether Aqar Exit can convert its 8,000 listings into completed resales before the planned 2027 raise.
Al Arabiya Business first reported the deal.
