CAIRO — NoorNation, an Egyptian climatetech building decentralised solar power and water units, has raised a $1.05 million seed round from Linah Farms, Catalyst Fund and KBW Ventures.

The round's structure is the story. Linah Farms deployed NoorNation's systems first, citing EGP 3 million in diesel savings across a Bahariya Oasis irrigation project, an agricultural school and a Sharm El Sheikh resort, and then joined the shareholder base. Five more installations, roughly 1.13 MWp, are already agreed.

NoorNation was founded in 2021 by Ragy Ramadan and Mohamed Khaled. Its LifeBox units sell solar power and water on a pay-per-use basis to farms and businesses the grid serves badly.

For KBW Ventures, Prince Khaled bin Alwaleed's firm, this is a repeat cheque after an undisclosed 2024 round: Saudi capital backing Egyptian climate hardware twice, while most regional climate money stays in software.

Expect the Linah installations to become the case study that prices the next round. A customer writing the seed cheque is the strongest diligence signal a hardware startup can show Series A investors, and NoorNation now has megawatts to point at.

Wamda reported the round.
