DUBAI — Rently, the rent-now-pay-later platform, has secured a $12 million credit facility from January Capital to expand in the UAE, its core market.
The facility is debt, not equity. Rently converts a tenant's single annual cheque into twelve monthly payments, and the new capital is the fuel that lets it front more of those cheques. The company says it has processed more than AED 100 million in rental contracts in the UAE, with volume up more than fivefold in a year.
Rently is headquartered in Singapore and led by CEO Shiv Mahajan. It raised a $3 million pre-Series A in June 2025 and is preparing a $10 to $15 million Series A for 2027.
Credit facilities are becoming the quiet tell in Gulf fintech. Tamara, Tabby, Lendo and CredibleX all stacked debt before their big equity rounds, because lending businesses die if the capital stack does not scale ahead of demand.
The prediction writes itself: if the fivefold growth holds through this facility, the 2027 Series A prices well above the last round. If it does not, the debt gets expensive fast. Watch Dubai's flexi-rent policy push, which moves the whole market toward monthly payments.
Wamda first reported the facility.
