CASABLANCA — ABA Life, the healthcare arm of Morocco's ABA Technology, has secured a $40 million (MAD 400 million) investment agreement from Admaius Capital Partners, the pan-African private equity firm.

The deal, confirmed by the company on Tuesday and subject to clearance from Morocco's Competition Council, funds what ABA Life calls its AI for Sovereign Health programme: scaling its Mediot AI clinical-intelligence platform, industrialising healthtech delivery and expanding internationally.

ABA Life was founded in 2021 by Mohamed Benouda, who has said plainly that the ambition is to build one of Morocco's next unicorns from Casablanca. Admaius, based between Kigali and Casablanca, has backed a medical school before: Université de Médecine St. Christopher.

The sovereign-health framing is the tell. Gulf states are spending heavily to keep health data and clinical AI inside their borders, and North Africa is now making the same argument with private equity money instead of sovereign wealth.

Watch the Competition Council timeline. If clearance lands cleanly, expect ABA Life's next announcement to be a Gulf or West African market entry, not another product.

Wamda first reported the agreement.
