RIYADH — Echelon, a Saudi AI applications company founded by Prince Khalid Bin Bader Al Saud, has closed an investment round without disclosing the amount or valuation. Backers include East40, Raed Ventures, Avra and Ben Horowitz, among others.
The company, roughly ten months old, connects AI technology providers with enterprise and government adopters across eight sectors. Its partners include Applied Intuition, IFS and Rubrik. Echelon plans a Frontier engineering arm and an Institute training arm in the fourth quarter of 2026, followed by Echelon Defense Industries in the first quarter of 2027.
An undisclosed round at a ten-month-old company would not normally draw attention, but the cap table mixes a named Saudi fund cohort with a Silicon Valley individual investor, and the roadmap extends into defense. Saudi Arabia's AI buildout has so far concentrated capital in infrastructure and sovereign-backed model efforts; Echelon sits at the deployment layer, where the state is also the biggest customer.
Watch whether the Q4 launch of the Frontier and Institute arms comes with a disclosed round size, and whether the defense unit draws a separate strategic backer.
entArabi first reported the round.
