DUBAI — Multipolitan, the Abu Dhabi-incorporated mobility platform, has raised $2 million in a pre-seed round at a $25 million pre-money valuation, led by global venture studio EmergentX.
The cheque, reported by web3digital.ae after a Zawya release, funds the December launch of a consumer app for cross-border travel and immigration. The company's Private Client business has already booked more than $4 million in net revenue in under two years.
The founding pair is the story. Nirbhay Handa came from Henley & Partners, the firm that effectively invented the citizenship-by-investment industry. Lee Smith co-founded Paidy, the Japanese buy-now-pay-later company PayPal bought for $2.7 billion in 2021.
Multipolitan runs a team of more than 40 across Singapore, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Bengaluru, with Manila and Kuala Lumpur next.
The read: investment migration has always been a high-fee, relationship-driven trade sold to the wealthy. A consumer app is a bet that the next wave of relocation demand, from founders to remote professionals, will start on a phone. Watch whether the December launch converts that bet into waitlist numbers.
